The existing Seventh-day Adventist Church at Laitumkhrah, Shillong was dedicated for service on March/April 1941.  There were about 15 to 20 members present then. Today, over 67 years later, this church has on its roll, members of varied dialects and tongues.  Currently, the following vernacular groups are identified– Khasi, Garo, Mizo, Hindi and the English speaking group for those who feel more comfortable to read and study the Word of God, sing praises and offer prayers to Him, in other than the above four mentioned languages.
